Fall Nature Immersive Yoga and Hiking Retreat
Western North Carolina
October 19-22, 2025
The Retreat
Reconnect with yourself and the natural world during an immersive yoga and hiking retreat in the heart of Western North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountains. Just outside Asheville, this experience invites you to slow down, breathe deeply, and ground yourself through daily yoga, mindful movement, and guided hikes amid the region’s vibrant changing leaves and landscapes.
Retreats aren’t an escape from reality—they’re an opportunity and a privilege to step back from our daily routines, remember why we’re here, and dive deeply into both self and collective care.
Each day begins with a morning yoga class, followed by a guided hike and delicious vegetarian meals catered by Mary Cowan. There will also be ample time for rest and relaxation. In addition, you'll have the opportunity to practice yoga off the mat by volunteering with a local Asheville community-based organization. All activities are optional, allowing you to create the retreat experience that best supports your needs.
The Retreat Center
This yoga retreat takes place on a secluded, family-owned property nestled among lush greenery, poplar trees, and breathtaking views of North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountains. Set on land first stewarded by the Cherokee and Catawba tribes—and with the Eastern Continental Divide running through the property—this setting offers a truly unique and meaningful experience.
The retreat center features two charming, country-style cabins that provide plenty of space for the group to spread out comfortably. An open-air pavilion serves as the setting for our classes and workshops, offering fresh mountain air and a connection to nature.
With expansive grassy lawns, inviting covered porches, and cozy indoor living spaces, there's ample room to relax and unwind. You’ll never feel crowded in this peaceful mountain lodge.
Just 16 miles southeast of downtown Asheville and with direct access to the Bearwallow and Trombatore Mountain hiking trails, this location offers the perfect environment for a restorative and grounding yoga retreat.

A little bit about your hosts…
Sara Nelson
I’m Sara…a recovering people pleaser, workaholic and perfectionist. I found yoga, mindfulness and mediation while I was battling with Postpartum Depression and Grief. I promised, as I discovered these tools in my own recovery, I would learn how to share them with other women. I am an ICF certified mindfulness coach working with people who are doing transformational work either in their personal lives or collectively in the world around them. In addition to being a life coach, I am a trauma- informed yoga teacher and have earned additional certifications in grief yoga and leading women’s circles. I am the co-founder of Meet us on the Frontlines, a community, member-based organization that prepares, connects and empowers people to activate on the frontlines of community.
